Pian Upe Game Reserve in North Eastern Uganda- Karamoja is the second most protected area in the country just after Murchison Falls National park in Northwestern Uganda. This beautiful, raw and less visited park covers an area of approximately 2,788 sq km. The park got its name from a Karamojong word meaning ‘Friendly Enemy’. The game reserve is composed of hot springs and it is sighted as one of the incredible destinations with mercury walls just at Mount Kadam.
Pian Upe wildlife reserve is part of the Mount Elgon Conservation Area (MECA). It lies in semi arid area which usually receives rainfall in April with light rain from June to early September.
