16 Days Pearl of Africa Safaris: Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1: Drive to Sheraton Kampala Hotel

On your arrival at the Entebbe airport, you will be picked up by a trained guide from the adventure in the wild safaris who will transfer you to Kampala. This will take you over 1 to 2 hours to reach the city.

You will have your lunch and then proceed to the city to have a city tour where you will get to see different attractions such as the museums, the kabaka tombs, the namugongo martyrs’ shrine, Ndeere cultural center to mention but a few. From there you will get to the hotel at Sheraton to rest, have dinner and then rest to prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After your morning breakfast, you will embark on your journey to one of the largest national parks in the Uganda. This will take you over 6 hours to reach the park. On your way to the park, you will get to the ziwa rhinos in nakasongola to see the rhinos. From there you will proceed with your journey through the Karuma falls and then probably arrive in the Murchison falls where you will be checked in at the park entrance and then be directed to the lodge where you will spend your overnight.

Day 3: Camping at the Top of the Falls

After your morning breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in the park where you will get to see a number of animals such as the leopards, the lions, giraffes, waterbucks to mention but a few. From there you will proceed to the water falls and hike to see the top of the falls. You will go for lunch at the Pakuba lodge. You will relax and then immediately go for a boat cruise where you will get to see a number of animals such as the hippos, crocodiles, elephants and so many others. You will get bac to the lodge relax and then relax, have dinner and prepare for tomorrow

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After your morning breakfast, you will start off your journey to the kibale national park where you will pass via the albert rift valley and you will get to see lake albert. This journey will take you over 7 hours to reach the park. On your way, you will opt to visit the mabeera ga nyina mwiru in fort portal district where you will see the breasts with milky form liquid. From there you have lunch in that town and then procced to the park. Upon your arrival, you will be checked in at the park entrance and then directed to the lodge where you will spend your overnight. You will get your dinner meals and then relax to prepare for the next day since you will be tired.

Destination: Kibale National Park

Day 5: Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Trekking 

Very early in the morning, you will get your breakfast, then your trained guide will take you to the park headquarters to first have a short briefing at 7 am on about the rules and the regulations of trekking the chimpanzees. From there by 8 am you will enter into the park and start trekking. After getting into the park, you will start looking for the chimpanzee families. After getting them, you will be given ample time of over one hour to spend with the chimpanzees as you are taking the photos. After, you will get back to the lodge have lunch and then relax to prepare for an evening bigodi nature walk where you will get to see the local people and discuss with them. You will get to talk to the ladies there and then see how they survive and what activities they do to earn a leaving. From there, you will get back to the lodge have dinner and then rest to prepare for the next day.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 

After your morning breakfast, you will get on your journey to queen Elizabeth national park. This will take you over 2 to 30 hours to reach the park. Upon your arrival, you will be checked in at the park entrance and directed to the lodge where you will spend an overnight. You will have your lunch and then relax to prepare for the evening game drive. During your game drive, you will get to see a number of animals such as the leopards, lions, bush babies, hyenas, elephants to mention but a few. From there, you will get back to the lodge have diner and then relax for the next day.

Day 7: Game Drive and afternoon boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel at Queen Elizabeth NP

Very early in the morning after your morning breakfast, you will be picked up by your trained tour guide and then get to the park for the morning game drive. You will get to see a number of animals such as the elephants, lions, leopards’ waterbucks to mention but a few. You will get to the lodge, have lunch and then relax to prepare for a boat cruise in the afternoon on the kazinga channel. You will get to see a number of animals such as the crocodiles, hippos, elephants to mention but a few. You will then get back to the lodge have dinner and then prepare for the next day.

Day 8: Explore Kyambura Gorge and Have experience of the Tree climbing Lions

After your morning tea, you will get on your journey to the queen Elizabeth in Kyambura gorge to do chimpanzee trekking. The trekking will start very early in the morning at 7am with a briefing at the park head quarters on the rules of trekking the chimpanzees. After you will enter the park by 8 am and start trekking as you are looking for the chimpanzees. Once you get them, you will be given ample time of over one hour to spend with the chimpanzees. From there, you will then go to the lodge have lunch as you prepare for the evening game drive where you will go to the ishasha to trek the tree climbing lions in the ishasha sector. You will take the photos as you see the lions. From there you will get back to the lodge, have dinner and then relax for the next day.

Day 9: Transfer to Bunyonyi then boat cruise

After your morning tea, you will embark on your journey to lake bunyonyi which will take you over 4 hours from the park to lake bunyonyi. Upon your arrival, you will be checked in and then directed to the lodge where you will spend an overnight. You will have your lunch and then go for an afternoon boat cruise where you will to see a number of animals and birds such as the black heron, wood peckers, golden black weaver, to mention but a few. From there you can opt to go and visit the island where the bakiga girls who got pregnant would be put for punishment. You will then go back to the lodge to have your dinner and rest for the next day.

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After the morning breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Upon your arrival, you will be checked in at the park entrance where you will directed to the lodge where you will spend your over night.You will have your lunch, relax and prepare for an evening batwa community  walk where you will meet the local people and get to discuss with them their life style and how they do their things to achieve a leaving. You will get back to the lodge have dinner and then rest preparing for the next day.

Destination: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 

Day 11: Gorilla Trekking

On this day, there will be no stress of waking yourself. The singing birds with sweet melodies will make you wake up and then grab your self a cup of coffee which will warm you up for the day. Your trained guide will then pick you up and take you for a briefing at the park headquarters about the rules and the regulations of trekking the gorillas. You will be divided into a group of 8 members and then enter into the park to start trekking. Once you get the primates, you will be allowed to have ample time with them, fun and take photos. From there you will get to park headquarters talk to the guide and get yourself a certificate then drive back to the lodge to relax. Have dinner and rest the whole night.

Day 12: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park In Kisoro

After your morning tea, you will embark on your journey to mgahinga national park which will take you over 3 hours to reach the park from Bwindi. Upon your arrival in the park, you will be checked in and then directed to the lodge where you will spend your overnight. You will relax and then take your lunch and then prepare to travel to lake mutanda to have a boat cruise on the lake. You will then head back to lodge have dinner and then rest.

Day 13: Batwa trail Experience

After your morning tea, you will get on your journey and have a batwa trail experience where you will have to hike in the forests. You will be advised to carry your own water bottle, and packed lunch. After your lunch, you will be guided by your local guide and get to visit the batwa people where you will get to jazz with the local people in the community and get to  be entertained by them. They will show you different traditional things such as the medicinal herbs, the bows and the arrows to mention but a few. you will then ger back to your lodge, have diner and then rest.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

On this day, you will wake up and take your breakfast, then embark on your journey to lake Mburo which will take you over 5 hours to reach from mgahinga to the park. On your journey to the park, you will have a stopover in Mbarara and have lunch. You will continue with your journey and finally reach the park. Upon your arrival, you will be checked in and then relax to prepare for the evening game drive where you will see a number of animals such as the zebras. You will then get back to the lodge have dinner and then relax.

Destination: Lake Mburo National Park 

Day 15: Horseback riding and afternoon boat cruise

On second last day of your trip, you will wake up very early in the morning, grab yourself a cup of tea and then go for horse riding in the park. This is so amazing and charming because you will get to see a number of animals as you are riding such as the impala, antelopes, giraffes to mention but a few. This will take you some time like approximately 2 hours. You will get to the lodge have lunch and then prepare for an evening boat cruise at Rwonyo. You will get to see a number of animals on your boat cruises such as the crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes to mention but a few. From there, you will get back to the lodge have dinner and rest.

Day 16: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala

Since this is the last day of your trip, you will wake up early, have your morning tea, and then embark on your journey to Kampala. On your way, you will have a stop over at one of the cultural centers in biharwe and that was the igongo cultural center. This is the place where you will have your lunch and then after you will continue with your journey and then finally reach Kampala.  Upon your arrival in Kampala, your trained guide will pick you and drop you to the Entebbe airport. And this marked the end of your 16 days pearl of Africa safaris.
