3 day birding in Kibale Forest

Three days birding in kibale will get you looking out for birds like theGreen-breasted Pitta, Yellow-billed Barbet, and African Emerald Cuckoo, Black-billed Turaco, Narina Trogon, Blue-shouldered Robin-chat, Sabine’s Spinetail, Chestnut Wattle eye and Narrow-tailed Starling among others. While here you will also have views of lots of other primates can also be seen among which are the Red Colobus, Black and white Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, Red-tailed Monkey, and L’Hoest’s Monkey.

 

Day 1: Bird to Kibale from Murchison Falls Conservation Area

The start from Murchison fall to kibale forest national a park after your breakfast, you will drive south to Kibale in the Toro Kingdom, with birding en-route you will start to look out for birds species like the Western banded Snake Eagle, Striped Kingfisher, Great blue Turaco, Lizard Buzzard, Lesser Striped Swallow, Joyful Greenbul, Chubb’s Cisticola, Masked Apalis, Cassin’s Grey Flycatcher, Whinchat, Stonechat, Green-headed Sunbird, Common Fiscal among others. On arrival at (the primate capital of the world) kibale forest national park you will check into the hotel have dinner and overnight at one of the lodges.

Day 2: Kibale National Park kanyanchu side.

Proceed to bird the side of Kanyanchu after having breakfast look out for bird species like the Green-breasted Pitta, Yellow-billed Barbet, and African Emerald Cuckoo, Black-billed Turaco, Narina Trogon, Blue-shouldered Robin-chat, Sabine’s Spinetail, Chestnut Wattle eye and Narrow-tailed Starling among others. You will break for your lunch meal and then be back to search for more bird species that you weren’t able to see in the morning. Lots of other primates can also be seen among which are the Red Colobus, Black and white Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, Red-tailed Monkey, and L’Hoest’sMonkey. After the activity go back to the lodge for and overnight.

Day 3: Bird in Bigodi then transfer to Queen Elizabeth.

Following your breakfast meal will be the Bigodi swamp walk to look out for bird species of which you will also have a view of other primates in the swamp. You will head back to hotel just in time for your lunch meal. And there after the meal you will check out of the hotel to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park with birding enroute.Coming back in time for lunch. After lunch, start the drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park driving along the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains (crossing the equator) and birding en-route. Look out for birds like, Lizard Buzzard, Blue-spotted Wood Dove, Great Blue Turaco, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, Black-and-white Casqued Hornbill, Woodland Kingfisher, Pygmy Kingfisher, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Double-toothed Barbet, little Greenbul, Winding Cisticola, ZittingCisticola, Green Crombec, Black-and-white Shrike-Flycatcher, Black-headed Gonolek, Bronze Sunbird, Fan-tailed Widowbird, Black Bishop, Black-crowned Waxbill.
