Five days hiking safari takes you through very thick forests where you go through the very deep and thick Sabinyo Gorge which is a really great bird watching spot. When you take o this safari you will be able to stretch up real good and have amazing views while at the top of the mountains. The route along the Congo border goes through different vegetation zones and at one point as you will be able to clearly see the calderas on top of Gisozi hill, you will also have a nice view of Kisoro as well as the Bunagana towns. You will be amazed by how beautiful Lake Mutanda appears.

5 Days Mgahinga Mount Hiking Tour: Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Mgahinga National Park

First day of your hiking safari you will leave Kampala and drive to Kisoro where Mt. Mgahinga national park is situated. You will have lunch en route and proceed to Kisoro. As you drive through that hilly area, enjoy the beautiful scenery of western Uganda. Evening arrival at the park accommodations, check in at the hotel, then have dinner and rest as you wait for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 2: Hike Mountain Sabinyo

Start your morning with a tasty breakfast meal,and then drive to the starting point for briefing before you start hiking Mt. sabinyo which is about 3669m high up in the sky. Thehike takes about 8 hours. During this hike, you will earn a chance to experience the hike as you view three countries at the same timethus Uganda, Dr. Congo and Rwanda; you won’t miss fascinating views of the mountain slopes. Later on in the day, you will slope down and head for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Hike Mountain Gahinga

Eat breakfast and grab your packedlunch, start on your hiking adventure. Start with briefing then be with the guides to start the hike upMt. Gahinga which is about 3474m high. As you stretch those muscles of yours for almost 6 hours, you will be over joyed by what you will find in the jungle. You will go through thick forests and in about a few hours you will be at Gahinga peak. Have views of flourishing swamp. After nature walks and scenic viewing, you will head back to the lodge for your dinner and overnights rest at the previous lodge.

Day 4: Mountain Muhavura Hike Experience

Havinghad breakfast,with your packed lunch and drinking water, head out for another hike to the highest of these mountains which is Muhabura Mountain that rises up to 4127metres. You will have more exposure in terms of scenery while at the top ,later in the evening, you will head back and spend the night, have dinner at the same hotel you spent the previous hotels.

Day 5: Drive Back to Kampala

Wake up, then have your breakfast then and head on the road for your journey back to Kampala since this will be the last day of your safari. While on the way back you will have a lunch stop and a visit to various craft shops if you please so.on arrival in the city you will either be checked into a hotel for your dinner and overnight stay or be dropped at the airport your flight back home.

Getting There

The trip will start from Kampala or Entebbe to Mgahinga National Park( Mountain Sabinyo, Mountain Gahinga, Mountain Muhavura ) and you will be dropped off at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe international airport after the trip.
