The Uganda wildlife authority allows a person above 15 years of age to trek the mountain gorillas in her parks, therefore a person below 15 years of age is not allowed to trek the mountain gorillas and this person is referred to as a child. However, there are many incidences when a child below 15 years o age will be allowed to participate in the gorilla trekking experience. Such as when a traveler is 14 years and is about to celebrate 15 years of age.
