The shuttle departs from OR Tambo at 07:00, then traveling north to Pretoria to pick up additional passengers at 07:30. Travel northeast from Pretoria to reach Greater Kruger Park.
The shuttle transports you to Three Bridges, adjacent to Hoedspruit, arriving between 12:30 and 13:00. Your guide thereafter retrieves you from Three Bridges and transports you to the Maseke Balule Game Reserve, which is a component of Greater Kruger Park. Our economical Greater Kruger Camp is situated within 8000 hectares of unspoiled African bush, mopane thicket, and rolling hills, providing an intimate and genuine lodge safari experience. Elephants, bushbucks, kudus, and various other game species regularly visit, transforming each moment at the bush camp into an adventure.
Following a leisurely meal, enjoying the ambiance of the safari camp and relaxing on the viewing terrace adjacent to the shimmering pool, we depart into the bush for a late afternoon to nighttime game drive. Day 2: Greater Kruger Safari – South Africa
Awaken at dawn in Africa for a brief coffee before embarking on a game drive in the refreshing morning bush. Maseke Balule Game Reserve has an unfenced boundary with Kruger National Park. The unfenced perimeter allows wildlife to traverse freely, resulting in great game viewing opportunities. Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest reserves, is home to more than 150 animal species, over 500 bird species, as well as numerous reptiles, plants, and trees. This is a Big Five nation, and the park is abundant in wildlife, avifauna, and other fauna. We return to the safari lodge in the late morning for a substantial breakfast.
The safari lodge is distinctive due to its limited capacity and serene environment. Enveloped by mopane woodland, a sanctuary for diverse game species, the viewing terrace and pristine pool await your enjoyment. Engage in swimming, take a leisurely walk about the camp, or simply unwind on the deck while appreciating the atmosphere of our family-oriented retreat.
Lunch and tea are provided in the afternoon, succeeded by an evening-to-night game drive. The synergy of a seasoned guide and multiple excursions into the African bush over several days provides an intimate perspective of the animals, their behaviors, and the ecosystem. Expert safari guides ensure that you maximize your safari experience. Anticipate encountering any member of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and buffalo), or, for the very fortunate, all five! Numerous other animals exist as well, including giraffes, duikers, zebras, impalas, polecats, and honey badgers. Each game drive in Greater Kruger Park is unique, offering unexpected experiences on every excursion.
Following the excitement of the nocturnal game viewing, we return to our safari camp to partake in a lavish lunch. Following dinner, unwind by the campfire and partake in the time-honored practice of storytelling.
