Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Diego Suarez to Amber Mountain National Park, Madagascar
This economical Madagascar Safari commences in the little coastal city of Diego Suarez, alternatively referred to as Antsiranana.
Upon your arrival at Diego Suarez Airport today, your guide will meet you and transport you to your eco-lodge adjacent to Amber Mountain National Park. The environmentally sustainable lodge is situated at the entrance of Montagne d’Ambre National Park, in proximity to Diego Suarez. Accommodate yourself at the lodge and relish the vistas of the Bay of Diego in the Mozambique Channel.
Amber Mountain Park has 185 km² of montane forest, crater lakes, and waterfalls in the northern mountains of Madagascar.
This afternoon, we will do a guided hike in Montagne d’Ambre, contingent upon time availability. Strolling through the verdant national park provides an intimate view of Madagascar’s varied flora and fauna, featuring rare and endemic species.
Upon traversing the woodlands of Amber Mountain Park on foot, we return to our comfortable lodge for the evening.

Day 2: Amber Mountain National Park, Madagascar
Awaken to the wonderful vistas from your bungalow and savor a freshly brewed cup of coffee. The second day of our Madagascar Safari commences with breakfast at the eco-lodge, followed by a full day of exploration in Montagne d’Ambre.
During our exploration of this picturesque national park, we are likely to observe several species of Madagascar lemurs. Amber Mountain Park’s tropical woods are home to eight distinct lemur species. We may encounter mongooses, several avian species, and other intriguing organisms, like vividly colored chameleons and butterflies.
Our expedition leads us to volcanic lakes and exquisite waterfalls in the temperate Alps. Your guide will also introduce you to some of the rare and indigenous flora of Madagascar while you appreciate the park’s breathtaking landscape.

DAY 3: Amber Mountain National Park to Diego Suarez, Madagascar
On the third day, we return to Diego Suarez, presently known as Antsiranana.
The final evening of this economical Madagascar Safari is spent in the city, providing an opportunity to engage with the local culture. Diego Suarez is the capital of the Diana region of Madagascar and houses one of the country’s principal ports.
Upon arrival in Antsiranana, we check into our coastal hotel, situated five minutes from the city center. Acclimate to your refined room with an ocean view and meander through the hotel’s exotic gardens.
Venture out to discover the vibrant metropolis and immerse yourself in the captivating cultures of Madagascar. Diego Suarez possesses a captivating history and is inhabited by a diverse amalgamation of individuals influenced by Arabic, European, Indian, and Creole cultures. It is an excellent location to acquire knowledge about the history and inhabitants of Madagascar. During your exploration, you may observe antiquated French colonial architecture and inhabitants adorned in white djellabas, ornamental masks, and vibrant loincloths. Conclude the day with a festive dinner at a local restaurant or at your cozy hotel overlooking Diego Bay.
