Murchison Falls Boat Cruise

Which Murchison Falls Boat Cruise should I pick?

Albert Delta.

From Paraa, the Albert delta slowly drifts downstream away from the powerful pull of the falls and reaches the lake’s shoreline.

There are morning and afternoon sessions available for the “sundowners” trip, but the afternoon session is the most romantic because you are on the river as darkness falls.

As the sun sets, the lush, green surrounds, which are surrounded by nature, start to glow orange. the ideal location for amazing pictures.

The journey is more than 28 kilometers long and lasts 4-5 hours. As you search the riverbanks for a variety of game and aquatic life, bird song will serve as your background music.

The Launch trip.

The 17-kilometer launch journey begins in Paraa and sails upstream toward the impressive falls.

You will be surrounded by lush vegetation and rocky rocks that are dotted with holes made by the turbulent waters of the falls throughout the whole of this 3-hour journey.

You may observe the force of Murchison Falls as water rushes down a constricted 7-meter gorge from your vantage point at the base of the falls. When the weather is clear, the falls’ spray mixes with the sun to create a rainbow that surrounds them, adding to their splendor and providing excellent photo opportunity.

Wildlife on the Water.

You have a great chance to see wildlife while out on your boat excursion. Animals are drawn to water during the dry season, so you might witness elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and giraffes sipping beverages.

You have an excellent possibility of seeing the ancient shoebill stork on the Albert delta tour where the river divides. These birds hunt for food via fishing, but they have difficulty doing so because of the dense vegetation floating on top of the water. On rare occasions, you’ll see them following hippo trails to clear the water so they can fish.

For serious birdwatchers, take a morning boat on the Albert delta where you can encounter kingfishers, herons, African fish eagles, hornbills, African skimmers, and egrets.

The park is home to the highest population of crocodiles in Uganda, so regardless of the cruise you take, you’re likely to encounter them lazing in the sun on the side of the riverbank.

What does the Cruise entail?

At 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., the boats leave Paraa twice a day. The cruises are run by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, and you’ll be welcomed by a knowledgeable staff who will offer you a safety briefing and a life jacket.

Every cruise has knowledgeable guides. From the location of Ernest Hemingway’s plane crash in 1954 to the hotel The Queen Mother stayed at when she attended an inaugural cruise in 1959, they can provide you a plethora of information about Murchison Falls.

How much does it cost?

At the time of writing, drinks are not included in the price of the boat tours, which are $30 per person. However, drinks are available to all visitors on board for a fair price.

You’ll need to make your plans far in advance because boat tours are very popular during the dry season.

The arrangements for all of this will be made for you if you booked your vacation with us.
