Day 1: Lilongwe (Malawi) to Luangwa Valley (Zambia)
The Zambia Safari in South Luangwa National Park commences in the adjacent nation of Malawi. This morning, you will be picked up from your pre-tour lodging in the capital city of Malawi, Lilongwe.
We depart from Lilongwe at approximately 09:00, proceeding westward towards the Zambian border. Upon finalizing border formalities, a brief drive leads us to the vibrant town of Chipata, the seat of Zambia’s Eastern Province. We go northwest from the hospitable Chipata to the wildlife-abundant Mfuwe region of the Luangwa Valley, renowned for its elephants. We pause for a picnic lunch in route, reaching our Zambia safari lodge in South Luangwa National Park by mid-afternoon.
The balance of the afternoon is available for you to acclimate to our comfortable safari lodge and appreciate the natural surroundings. The lodge is situated along the banks of the Luangwa River within South Luangwa National Park. This location is perfect for a genuine wildlife safari in the pristine African countryside. Swim in one of the two pools, unwind on the deck with a view of the bush, or take a nap in your private chalet.
