5 Days Murchison Falls Family Chimp Tracking tour: Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1 Kampala– Murchison Falls National Park

After an early morning breakfast, our company driver guide will pick you from your hotel in Entebbe/ Kampala by 7:30am as you begin the journey to Murchison falls, He will brief you about the safari and thereafter embark on your journey driving North-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have brief enroute stopover for lunch at Kabalega dinners.
Continue to the park and on arrival, Proceed and enter the park with a visit to the top of the falls where you see the powerful Nile water squeezing through a narrow gorge of 7m 50m canyon and later dropping down 45 meters with a thunderous roar forming mist like drops and rainbow-like structure. Thereafter, continue to the lodge with evening game drive. On arrival, check in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game drive and afternoon Nile boat ride.

Rise up early and have morning breakfast. Thereafter, drive to the park for morning drive best time for game viewing when the animals are most active. Driving via the Nyamsika plateau, enjoy the views and also see animals including the big five like (elephants, lions, buffaloes and giraffes), warthogs, bush backs, water bucks, heart-beasts and many more. Return to lodge for refreshment, breakfast and lunch, as you get ready for exciting Delta boat cruise on Victoria Nile upstream and down to the bottom of the falls.
While on the boat, you will see hippos, crocodiles in the waters as well as the water bucks and a wide array of bird’s species along the shores including the pelican bee-eater, egret, Kingfishers, eagles, weaver birds and heron etc. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. Perfect spot for stunning Photography shoot for the majestic Murchison Falls. Return to Lodge relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Delta Boat cruise, Afternoon game drive in Paraa area

Wake up for morning breakfast and proceed to the Delta area of Murchison falls national park where you will do the Delta boat cruise. These bat trip goes down to Paraa area and down the Delta to the point where the Nile River drops its waters in Lake Albert. The boat trip lasts for about 4-5 hours offering you a great opportunity to see lots of wildlife species including; buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos and the rare bird species like the elusive shoebill stock. You will also observe the Nile reducing speed as it deposits waste before entering lake Albert. Return back to the lodge for lunch and then prepare for your evening game drive to look for animals you could have missed during the previous game drives.
After the game drive, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimp tracking and transfer to Zziwa Rhino sanctuary

Have your breakfast early enough and after you will head to the Bundongo trekking offices where you will be briefed by the park rangers on the dos and don’ts for Chimpanzee trekking. After, you will then be divided into groups and led by an experienced ranger guide who will take you through the tracking. The tracking may last for some hours before you can see the chimps, you are advised to carry bottled water and snacks just in case the tracking takes long. When you finally find them, you will be allowed a maximum of 1houe with them to enjoy the most thrilling experience. For bird lovers, this experience offers you an opportunity to sight different bird species in the Budongo forest. After, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch and relax a while after your encounter with the great Apes.
After lunch, check out of the lodge, exit the park and continue to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, on arrival drive and check in to Amuka lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Rhino tracking and departure

Wake up and have morning breakfast and thereafter, head to the park office for Rhino tracking. Zziwa Rhon Sanctuary is the only home harboring White Rhinos in Uganda. Zziwa was created to conserve and protect the remaining Rhino population with intention of re-introducing them to all other parks in Uganda where they once lived before, they went extinct due to rampant poaching.
After Rhino tracking, return to the lodge where you will have lunch and thereafter, continue with your journey back to Kampala, where the driver will drop you off at the Entebbe international airport for your flight home or at the drop off point of your convenience. Marking the end of the 5 days Murchison falls safari in Uganda.
