6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth safari is basically a big five safari adventure that takes you to two to national parks in Uganda offering a thrilling wildlife safari experience. Murchison falls and Queen Eizabeth national park for scenic savannah grassland landscape which is a habitat for a wide range of wildlife species. During the safari you will enjoy game drives and boat cruise safaris on the River Nile and Kazinga channel. Whie on this trip, you will have an opportunity to encounter the big five game as well as other wildlife and wide array of bird species. Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national parks boosts with vide range of bio diversified- eco system characterized by woodland, savannah plains, tropical forest as well as the local communities from which you can explore and get more insight in to the daily life of the local person.
Murchison falls national park is known for its powerful waterfalls that results from the Nile squeezing through narrow 7m gorge and falling down with a thunderous roar. Queen Elizabeth is famous for the Kazinga channel which intersects lake gorge and Lake Edward, the Kazinga channel boosts with the biggest concentration of Hippos in Africa also referred to as the “School of hippos”

6 Days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth family tour: Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1: pick up from the hotel and transfer to Murchison falls National Park

You have morning breakfast and thereafter the driver guide will be there to pick you up by 7:30 am for the start of your safari to Murchison falls national park, you will drive north of Uganda along Kampala-Gulu highway, with enroute stop over at the Ziwa Rhion sanctuary where you will take part in Rhino tracking, this will take about 2-3 hours tracking, check out with enroute lunch in Kabalega dinners or Masindi town located at the Kampala- Gulu Highway. Embark on your journey and drive to Murchison falls national park. Proceed and enter the park with a visit to the top of the falls where you will see the Nile’s beauty compressing from 45 meters to squeeze through a 7-meter canyon dropping 40 meters and dropping down with a thunderous roar. Continue to the lodge with enroute game drive, check in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat

Wake up early and have morning breakfast and drive to the park for game drive by 7:00am, to catch up with the park coming alive and the predators hunting for prey. Murchison falls has got variety of animals and several bird species that you will be able to see during the game drive in the park. The driver guide will explore several tracks in the park as you search for the game. While on the game drive, you will be able to see animals like elephants, buffalos, giraffes, lions, water bucks, Uganda Kobs, Jackson heartbeats, antelopes, warthogs among others. The game drive goes up to 12pm where you will drive to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for 2:00pm boat cruise on the river Nile which will last for about 2 hours, during the boat, you will see several animals’ species such as the elephants, buffalos, antelopes drinking water on the shores, in the water, you will see hippos and Nile Crocodiles and other water bird species such as the elusive shoebill stork pelican bee-eater, egret and heron. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. Take pictures of the Majestic Murchison Falls and thereafter, drive to the lodge to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have breakfast at the lodge and thereafter, check out of the lodge and exit the park with enroute game drive and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth a habitat for several wildlife species, the drive is scenic with lots od stunning views along the country side. Lunch will be enroute as you continue with your to Queen Elizabeth national park arriving the lodge in the evening, check in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon Kazinga channel boat cruise

Rise up early and have morning breakfast, meet your driver guide and drive to Kasenyi plains for game drive, mornings are best game viewing when the animals are most active. You will be able to see lots of animals including the buffalos, elephants, Uganda Kobs, lions, antelopes among others. The drive goes on until noon. Drive to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, drive to Kazinga channel where you will do a boat cruise for more thrilling game watching experience. While on the boat, you will be able to see several animals including the elephants, buffalos and other on the shores while in the water, you will see the highest concentration of hippos, Nilce crocodiles and several water birds. After the boat, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Explore the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth

Rise for early morning breakfast and thereafter, drive to Ishasha sector located on the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park for another exciting opportunity to see the tree climbing lions. You will have a full day game drive at the Ishasha sector which boosts with the several species of animals that you will encounter while on the game drive.
Later evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Drive back to Kampala

Have morning breakfast at the lodge, check out of the lodge and drive to the park for another morning game drive be on the look out for some animals that you could have missed during the previous game drives. Thereafter, exit the park and start the journey back to Kampala, driving through the tea plantations with a stop over for lunch in Fort portal town.
After lunch, embark on the journey via Mbarara town arriving at the equator where you will have another stop over for photo shoot and some stretching, view craft shops among others. Continue with the journey arriving Kampala in the evening. The Driver will drop you off the Entebbe international airport in time for your departure flight back home or the at your preferred location.

Getting There

The trip will start from Kampala or Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park and you will be dropped off at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe international airport after the trip.
