10-Day Gorilla and Chimpanzee Photography Safari: Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our experienced guide who will escort you to your awaiting safari vehicle.
After a brief orientation, we embark on a 10-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to one of the most diverse populations of mountain gorillas in the world. En route, you will make a stop at the equator take pictures and also indulge in a sumptuous lunch at handpicked restaurants offering a taste of authentic Ugandan cuisine.
As we arrive at our lodge nestled amidst the lush forest, take the remainder of the day to unwind and prepare for the adventure ahead. Have dinner and a well deserved rest as you prepare for the activities of the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Early in the morning you will awake to the symphony of the forest as the sun casts its golden rays upon the verdant landscape. After a hearty breakfast, we venture deep into the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an exhilarating gorilla trekking experience. Led by experienced trackers and armed with your camera gear, we traverse through dense foliage in search of these majestic creatures on a trek that takes between 2 to 6 hours to find these wonderful primates. Upon encountering a gorilla family, immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring spectacle, capturing their intimate moments with your lens for a maximum of one hour.
Following the trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch and relish in the stories shared over delectable cuisine. Spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps editing your photographs or simply soaking in the tranquil ambiance of the forest. In the evening you will have dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3: Transfer from Bwindi to Kibale Forest National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, bid farewell to Bwindi as we embark on an 8-hour road journey to Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its thriving population of chimpanzees and diverse array of wildlife.
On your way, enjoy a delectable lunch at a charming eatery, offering panoramic views of the picturesque countryside. Upon arrival at our enchanting lodge nestled amidst the forest, unwind and savor a sumptuous dinner under the starlit sky, accompanied by the enchanting sounds of the wilderness. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge near Kibale Forest National Park.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
Rise with the dawn chorus as we prepare for an immersive chimpanzee habituation experience in the heart of Kibale Forest. Have your breakfast and then led by expert guides, venture deep into the forest in search of these charismatic primates as they go about their daily routines. With ample time to observe their behaviours and interactions, seize the opportunity to capture captivating moments with your camera. You may take between 2 to 6 hours trekking in the forest in search of the chimps but on the way, you may see other primates as well including L’Hoest monkeys, Red Colobus, grey-cheeked mangabeys alongside different species of birds.
Following the exhilarating experience, return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch, followed by an afternoon at leisure to reflect on the day’s adventures or explore the surrounding area at your own pace. In the evening you will have dinner and overnight stay at the lodge of your choice.

Day 5: Nature Walk and Bird Watching in Kibale Forest
Wake up early and have your breakfast as today offers a chance to immerse yourself in the rich biodiversity of Kibale Forest through a guided nature walk and bird watching excursion. As you meander along forest trails teeming with life, keep your camera poised to capture the kaleidoscope of avian species that call this habitat home. The forest is home to over 370 species of birds, from colourful turacos to elusive forest hornbills where every sighting presents an opportunity to hone your photography skills. There are four bird species in Kibale Forest national park that have not been recorded in any other park in Uganda and these are Nahan’s francolin, Cassin’s spinetail, masked apalis and the blue-headed bee-eater. The nature walk can take between two to five hours depending on the trail followed and it starts at 8am in the morning.
Return to the lodge after the nature walk for a delightful lunch before embarking on an afternoon of leisure, perhaps indulging in a rejuvenating spa treatment or simply soaking in the tranquility of your surroundings. Later in the evening you will have dinner and rest at your lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, embark on a picturesque drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a treasure trove of wildlife nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of western Uganda.
Along the way, stop for a delectable lunch at a charming restaurant overlooking the sprawling savannah plains. As we arrive at our luxurious lodge nestled along the banks of the Kazinga Channel, soak in the panoramic vistas and relish a sumptuous dinner under the African night sky. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 8: Transfer Queen Elizabeth National Park to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park as we embark on a scenic journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. This road trip may take about 7 hours to complete the 370km journey.
On the journey, savor a delicious lunch at a charming eatery overlooking the lush landscapes of western Uganda. Upon arrival at our exquisite lodge nestled along the banks of the Nile River, unwind and soak in the serenity of your surroundings before indulging in a delectable dinner and have yourself a comfy overnight stay.
