Tour Overview

This Six-day safari offers the ultimate primate safari experience in Uganda. The safari starts with a visit to Kibale Forest national park home to the chimpanzees and 13 other primates’ species. At Kibale you will do a chimp trek and Bigodi nature walk. The second half of the journey takes you to the Bwindi impenetrable forest national park home to endangered mountain gorillas. At Bwindi you will do a gorilla trek, and later visit Lake Bunyonyi.

14 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari: Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Airport Pick up –Transfer to Kampala

As soon as you arrive to the airport our company representative will come to pick you up and drive you for around 45 minutes after which you will arrive in Kampala and overnight and stay at

Day 2: Rhino Tracking and Transfer To Gulu

After you morning breakfast, embark on your journey to Gulu with a stopover for Rhino Tracking within the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The Ziwa Rhino sanctuary was created to conserve and the Rhinos, with intention of re-introducing them to all other parks in Uganda where they once lived before they were all poached. The Rhino Tracking tour usually lasts between 1hr 30minutes to 2hrs and 30 minutes. After your Rhino tracking experience proceed to Kabalega Dinners for lunch and then continue the journey to Gulu city where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo, afternoon game drive in Narus Valley

After an early morning breakfast, embark on your journey to Kidepo valley national park. You will have a scenic drive through the Rural Uganda countryside, lasting 4.5 hours. Upon arrival in Kidepo Valley, proceed and check-in to your lodge where you will have lunch and a little rest.
In the afternoon, proceed for a game drive in Kidepo valley national park. Narus Valley is popular for mammals such as elephants, giraffes, buffalo’s antelopes, zebras and birds. Being the only permanent water point, many animals come to Narus valley to drink water and feed. It’s where you will find the largest buffalo herds than you can find anywhere on planet earth. Chances of spotting big cats hunting are very high as well. If lucky, you may spot the rare cheetahs too. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon Karimojong community tour

In the morning will go for another game drive in search of what you could have missed on previous game drive.
In the Afternoon, you will visit the Karamojong homesteads, known as the Manyatta. Here you will have the opportunity to interact with the elders and get to know more about their culture and lifestyle. Here you can contribute by making donations of any kind towards their social welfare. As part of our sustainability practice, we take our clients to appreciate their lifestyle and daily activities which include grazing and milking cows. This is the perfect opportunity for those who like to immerse themselves in the cultures of the communities they visit.
Note: You can opt to spend the whole day doing game drives, no extra cost is charged for afternoon game drive if you swap with Karamojong community tour.

Day 5: Guided Nature walk, and afternoon game drive

After your early morning breakfast we go for a guided nature walk through the park. On this guided nature walk, we will be accompanied by experienced rangers who will give all the information about animals, birds, their habits and how they can track their movements. This guided nature walk is a great opportunity for you to see wild animals up close and personal in their habitat.

Later in the late afternoon, you will have an evening game drive along the Narus River Valley for game viewing and photography of large numbers of the game as they gather around the water source to quench their thirst. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison falls national Park, Afternoon game drive.

After an early morning breakfast, embark on your journey from Kidepo to Murchison falls national Park. This is a 6 hour drive, and you will arrive at your hotel, check-in and have lunch.
Later in the afternoon, proceed for an afternoon game drive where you May see some of the big five like (elephants, lions, buffaloes and giraffes), warthogs, bush backs, water bucks, Jackson, heart-beasts, hippos, several birds and many more.

Day 7: Murchison Falls Game drive – Boat cruise along the Mighty Nile

Before going for an early morning game drive to the northern part of Murchison falls National Park led by your tour guide, take a cup of tea to warm up. This drive will reward you with  encounters  of game like, hyenas, leopards, jackals, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kob, elephants, and many more savannah wild life species. Enjoy a 4-hour game drive around the Buligi game tracks, which stretch between the Victoria and Albert Niles, and down to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta. Return for midmorning breakfast and lunch. After the game drive head out for the Boat cruise or launch cruise along the Victoria Nile. This boat trip is often cited as being the highlight of a trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up-close and personal with the animals. Along this stretch of the river, the bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks. If lucky, you may see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill, which is a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur. The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness.it will also provide an opening to view some of the water animals like the crocodiles, buffaloes, hippos and plenty of birds. Destination: Murchison Falls National Park 

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Our safari guide will meet you at breakfast and transfer you to Kibale National Park. You hill have a brief drive to the top of Murchison falls where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from 50 meters to squeeze through a 6-meter canyon dropping 40 meters with a thunderous roar. Continue your drive to Fort Portal. Upon arrival in fort portal, have lunch at a good restaurant in town and then continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Destination: Kibale Forest National Park 

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking Kibale, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After Breakfast, walk into the Forest, to view primates, however before you begin you will go to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu and be briefed by the park ranger. This activity begins early morning at 8.00 a.m. and spend half the day looking for chimpanzees as well as monkeys like grey cheeked Mangabey, Red-tailed monkeys, phoestes, Red-Colobuses plus Blue tailed monkeys, all jumping from one branch to another. You will as well observe a profusion of birds and butterflies plus many tiny insects. The park ranger will detail you about information concerning these primates, and the different birds, animals and plant life here; this will make the walk very informative and enjoyable. Right after having lunch, embark on your 2.5 hour drive to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 10: Visit Katwe Explosion Crater, Kazinga Boat cruise and afternoon Game drive.

After an early breakfast, proceed for a drive around the Katwe explosion crater. This is one of the most enjoyable activities to do in queen elizabeth national park which rewards you with scenic views and a great wildlife encounter experience. Later proceed for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel from 11 am to 2:00pm. During the boat cruise, you will spot various water animals like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various water birds. Return to your hotel for lunch.
Later go for and afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi sector, you may spot various animals like the elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards among others on this best Uganda safari. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: The Ishasha Sector transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast you will embark on the Journey to the gorilla trekking haven of Bwindi (Rushaga) 309km which is about 4-5 hours’ drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will pass through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have chances of spotting the tree climbing lions lying on tree branches in the midmorning sunshine. Proceed to Bwindi check in at your lodge for relaxation and overnight at;

Destination: Bwindi Forest National Park 

Day 12: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Gorilla Park, transfer to Mgahinga

Be up with the early bird, taking a hot coffee with a snack and be at tourism office by 8:00 am for briefing by Ranger guides about general trekking experiences, getting porters to carry your extra luggage and start off your real exciting Mountain gorilla trekking safari. Ascend steep, rugged, mist covered, thick forested hills and get in the mix with thousands of other primates, birds, mammals, insects and different wildlife species sharing habitat with gorillas and walk in their foot prints. The exciting feeling of challenging the impenetrable forests, meeting up with the gorillas and everything about the jungles is so captivating and your brief duration of life in the jungles will stretch your imagination. You will spend just one hour with gorillas within which you will have grasped almost everything about the gorillas. After the gorilla trek, transfer from Ruhija to Kisoro where you will check-in to your lodge close to Mgahinga gorilla national park.

Day 13: Golden Monkey trekking and transfer to lake mburo

After an early morning breakfast, you will head out for Golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park. This activity will last for 3 hours in which you will spot the several monkey species in the area. Later in the afternoon, transfer from Mgahinga gorilla national park to lake Lake mburo national Park, arriving late in the evening.

Day 14: Walking Safari and departure.

Wake up early and have breakfast by 6:30am and then embark on a walking safari by 7:00am accompanied by park ranger guides. During the walking safari expect to have upclose encounters with the wildlife in lake mburo including elands, water bucks, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and so much more. The walk lasts for 2 hours and you will exit the park by 90:00am then embark on the journey to Entebbe, have a brief stopover at the equator where you will take photos and have lunch, then continue to Entebbe airport where we shall drop you off by 2:00pm in time to check-in for your flight.
