Tour Overview

This Six-day safari offers the ultimate primate safari experience in Uganda. The safari starts with a visit to Kibale Forest national park home to the chimpanzees and 13 other primates’ species. At Kibale you will do a chimp trek and Bigodi nature walk. The second half of the journey takes you to the Bwindi impenetrable forest national park home to endangered mountain gorillas. At Bwindi you will do a gorilla trek, and later visit Lake Bunyonyi.

15 Days Uganda Adventure Safari: Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Airport pickup and transfer to Kampala.

As soon as you arrive to the airport our company representative will come to pick you up and drive you for around 45 minutes after which you will arrive in Kampala and overnight and stay at

Day 2: Transfer To Jinja, White Water rafting

 

After an early morning breakfast, we pick you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and we set off for Jinja City located in Eastern Uganda, and is also known as the adventure capital of Uganda where we shall be doing white water rafting. Upon arrival in Jinja, proceed to the base camp where you Meet up with the rafting team in Jinja and attend a briefing session after which you will get into the vehicle and drive to the starting point where you will also be taken though a brief exercise to familiarize yourself with the rafting experience. Make your choice between grade 3 or grade 5 rapids and begin your adventure. Rafting on the Nile river lasts between 1 to 3 hours and it is always celebrated with a cold bottle of Nile special beer at the end. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Enjoy Lunch and later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Later return for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Source of the nile Boat cruise and transfer to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early morning breakfast, embark on short ride to the source of River Nile, the worlds longest river. You will then go for a boat ride on Lake Victoria, taking you straight to the point known as the source of River nile. You will take photos as well as your local guide gives you more information about Lake Victoria and the source of the Nile.
After visiting the source, we embark on our journey to The ziwa Rhino sanctuary located in northern Uganda. You will have your lunch enroute. Check-in at the sanctuary and proceed to Amuka Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Rhino Tracking and transfer Murchison Falls National Park

After you morning breakfast, head out for Rhino Tracking within the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The Ziwa Rhino sanctuary was created to conserve and the Rhinos, with intention of re-introducing them to all other parks in Uganda where they once lived before they were all poached. The Rhino Tracking tour usually lasts between 1hr 30minutes to 2hrs and 30 minutes. After your Rhino tracking experience we exit the lodge and proceed to Murchison falls national park, driving straight to the top of the falls, which is a fantastic sight. Here the Nile, the longest river in the world, is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43 meters. You will continue to red Chili rest camp for lunch and refreshment then later embark on an evening game drive in which you will have huge opportunities of spotting the resident wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, lions, the leopards, hyenas, Jackson hartebeests, waterbucks, bush bucks, hippos, and so much more. Proceed to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Destination: Murchison Falls National Park 

Day 5: Murchison Falls Game Drive – Boat cruise along River Nile

Before going for an early morning gamedrive to the northern part of Murchison falls National Park led by your tour guide, take a cup of tea to warm up. This drive will reward you with  encounters  of game like, hyenas, leopards, jackals, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kob, elephants, and many more savannah wild life species. Enjoy a 4-hour game drive around the Buligi game tracks, which stretch between the Victoria and Albert Niles, and down to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta. Return for midmorning breakfast and lunch. After the game drive head out for the Boat cruise or launch cruise along the Victoria Nile. This boat trip is often cited as being the highlight of a trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up-close and personal with the animals. Along this stretch of the river, the bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks. If lucky, you may see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill, which is a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur. The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness.it will also provide an opening to view some of the water animals like the crocodiles, buffaloes, hippos and plenty of birds. Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Our safari guide will meet you at breakfast and transfer you to Kibale National Park. Then drive you to Fort Portal passing via Mityana-Mubende road. Have a stopover in Mubende and visit the Nakayima tree. Have lunch en route and continue to Kibale forest national park arriving in the afternoon. Check in and relax at the lodge. Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest.

Following Breakfast, walk into the Forest, to view primates, however before you begin you will go to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu and be briefed by the park ranger. This activity begins early morning at 8.00 a.m. and spend half the day looking for chimpanzees as well as monkeys like grey cheeked Mangabey, Red-tailed monkeys, phoestes, Red-Colobuses plus Blue tailed monkeys, all jumping from one branch to another. You will as well observe a profusion of birds and butterflies plus many tiny insects. The park ranger will detail you about information concerning these primates, and the different birds, animals and plant life here; this will make the walk very informative and enjoyable. Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depart for Queen Elizabeth national park located in the foothills of the Mountains of the moon. Queen Elizabeth is Uganda’s second largest park, located at the base of the majestic Ruwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. The park has prolific game, including gazelle, Uganda kob, warthog and waterbuck. Lions are often sighted both in and at the entrance to the park. Be prepared for huge numbers of hippo and elephant, and keep your eyes peeled for a leopard lazing in the sunshine.
It is one of the great mountain ranges of the world. As you continue to the park you may see different animals and birds given that the park has got about 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species.
In the afternoon you will have a game drive in which you will see most of the wildlife in the park.

Day 9: Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Boat Cruise.

You will go for an early morning a game drive in the Kasenyi sector, you may spot various animals like the elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards among others on this best Uganda safari. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and in the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel where you will spot various water animals like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various water birds. Day 10: The Ishasha Sector, Transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast you will embark on the Journey to the gorilla trekking haven of Bwindi (Rushaga) 309km which is about 4-5 hours’ drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will pass through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have chances of spotting the tree climbing lions lying on tree branches in the midmorning sunshine. Proceed to Bwindi check in at your lodge for relaxation and overnight at;

Day 11: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi and Batwa Community Walk

Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides before embarking on your gorilla trek. Head into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas. Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas in Bwindi, you will be allowed only 1 hour and then return to your lodge for lunch.
Later in the afternoon, you will go for a community tour in which you will visit the batwa pygmies to learn more about their culture and also enjoy some cultural performances. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Today morning after an early breakfast, drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park and head straight to the briefing point where the golden monkey trekking starts. Just like the previous day, you receive a briefing from the ranger guide who will share information on what to expect while in the Virunga volcanoes searching for the golden monkeys. After this short brief, you will then start your hike up in search of the golden monkeys, found only in the Virunga ranges of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. Porters are available for those interested and an enforcement officer will join you to help in case you meet the wild buffaloes and Elephants which can be dangerous. Golden monkeys are swift in their movements unlike the gorillas and you will follow them as they feed. They love feeding on bamboo shoots among other foods like fruits, vegetation and sometimes ants.

You are only allowed to spend 1 hour with the golden monkeys before you start your descent back to the starting point and continue the journey to Lake Bunyonyi

Day 13: Bunyonyi Cruise & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

You will wake up with the rising sun. Have breakfast in the lawns and seal your mountain gorilla safari with a brief exciting boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy the serenity of the lake with cool breezes soothing your skin. Be alert for several attractive bird species on the lake and pay extra attention to guide’s moving stories. You will get to the hotel and check out by 11.00 and transfer to Lake Mburo national park. Enroute stopover at Mbarara town for lunch, then continue to Lake Mburo where you will check-in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14: Walking Safari And Transfer To Kampala

Wake up early, enjoy some tea or coffee with a bite and then head out for a walking safari by 6:30am, were you are accompanied by a park ranger to explore the park on foot. You will view the animals at the park at close range. The walking safari will last for 2-3 hours. Some of the wildlife you get to see include; Zebras, Giraffes, Waterbucks, Impala, Kobs, bush bucks, buffaloes, Eland, warthogs, and so much more.
After that you will embark on your journey to Kampala. Stop over at the equator and take some photos, have lunch then continue to Kampala where you will check-in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15: Kampala City Tour, Departure

Enjoy breakfast leisure, after which proceed for a Kampala city tour in which you will visit some of the top attractions in Kampala including local markets, Uganda museum, Gadaffi mosque, Bahai Temple, Kabaka’s palace and so much more. Later in the evening, transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight back home.
