9 Days Uganda Cycling Tour: Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and transfer to hotel

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Our company representative will pick you up and
transfer to your hotel for relaxation and briefing about the upcoming adventure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Destination: Entebbe

Day 2: Drive to lake Mburo National Park

After your breakfast at the lodge, the driver guide will pick you up from the hotel, he will brief you about the safari as you start journey driving via south western region of Kampala city to Lake Mburo national park. You will have brief enroute stopover at the equator for photoshoot and relaxation. After, you will continue with the journey arriving at the park in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for afternoon bike ride as you pedal along the edge of the park, covering a distance of 25 kilometers, and get to see cool animals like zebras, Ugandan Kobs and playful warthogs. This is unique experience offering you a close encounter with the animals. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Morning game drive and cycle to Lake Bunyonyi

Wake up and have morning breakfast and drive to the park for morning game drive and or a nature walk for more game viewing, explore other sectors of the park with the chance to see other game that you might have missed during the previous day. After, you will return to the lodge and check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive takes you via Mbarara town where you will have your lunch embark on the journey arriving in lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon, check in to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay.

Destination: Lake Bunyonyi  

Day 4: Boat Tour to the Islands and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Wake and have morning breakfast and go a boat trip in lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is home to 29 islands, full of wildlife and history. Embark on a 3 hrs. guided boat tour to experience the various sights and sounds of this beautiful lake. You will have an opportunity to visit some of the key Islands including historic Punishment Island, Sharps Island, Upside-Down Island, Bushara Island, and Kyahugye Island where you can spot various animals and birdlife. Top it off with an exciting stop over at Supreme Adventure Park where you can zip-line over the lake across two islands. Return to the lodge and check out for transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will cycle from Lake Bunyonyi to Bwindi the distance is about 59km which will take about 2-3 hours cycling to reach Bwindi Forest. You will have enroute lunch as you continue to the park. On arrival, proceed and check in to the lodge for relaxation. Later dinner and overnight stay.

Destination: Bwindi National Park 

Day 5: Gorilla trekking

Have morning breakfast and with your parked lunch form the lodge, head out to the park headquarters where you will meet with the ranger guides and other trekkers for briefing about gorilla trekking before you start the trek. Thereafter, you will be put in groups and assigned a gorilla group you will be tracking. The rangers will lead you to the forest for the start of the trek. The trek may last for about 2- 6hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas thus requires you to be physically fit to hike the slopes. Once you have found the gorillas, you will be allowed one hour with as you observe them and watch them go about their daily activities. After you exit the forest and return to the park headquarters where you with the certificate of participation in gorilla trekking thus contributing to their protection and conservation. Then the driver will take you back to the lodge for rest.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have a relaxed morning breakfast and thereafter, check out of the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will enter through the Ishasha sector famed for its rare tree-climbing lions and if lucky we will see the tree climbing lions and also spot some animals enroute to the lodge. On arrival, you will drive to the lodge where you will check in for the rest of the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning game drive afternoon Boat cruise

Have early breakfast and drive to the park by the break of dawn best time to catch up with the predators hunting their morning prey and several other animals grazing in the savanna grass before retrieving in their hideouts. Queen Elizabeth is a home to variety of mammal species including the Elephants, buffalos, giraffes, lions, leopard, antelopes, giant forest hogs, warthogs, bush backs, among others. After you will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel for epic game viewing the channel is best known for hosting the largest concentration of hippos, among other aquatic animals and several bird species and other seen along the eater banks drinking water. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Destination: Queen Elizabeth National Park 

Day 8: Drive back to Kampala and visit Ndere Cultural Centre for cultural show and buffet full of authentic local foods.

Wake and have your breakfast thereafter, set out and start the transfer back to Kampala offering sunning views of the countryside. The drive takes about 5-6 hours. Arriving in Mbarara town where you will have your lunch. Continue to Kampala arriving in the afternoon. In the evening, you will visit the Ndere cultural center, this place offers a unique architecture setting with filled with traditional and cultural norms. While here, you will enjoy some entertainment ranging from the traditional dances and drummer and excitement also the test of delicious local foods among others. After, the driver guide will drop you off at the hotel for evening stay.

Day 9: Departure

Wake up to a relaxed morning breakfast depending on your departure time, you may choose to go on city tour to visit of the interesting places in Kampala city. The city has got a number of attractions which you can take time and explore including the Uganda Museum, Kasumbi Tombs, Uganda Martyrs shrine Namugongo, Bahai Temple, Kabakas palace among others. After you will lunch and the guide will drop you off at the airport in time for your departure flight back home.
